Congratulations on your engagement! No doubt you have lots of ideas and thoughts running around in your head about the type of wedding day you would like. Choosing the right venue for your perfect dream wedding will no doubt be top of your list. If you are thinking of choosing a barn wedding venue in Dorset then please do read on as we may have the perfect wedding venue for you!
Hope Farm is our family home and for the past five years we have been delighted to host many weddings in our beautiful barn wedding venue. We feel very honoured to share this special part of West Dorset with so many couples and do our utmost to ensure that every couple is given our full attention and support. It is our intention to ensure your wedding is everything you hope and dream it will be. There are of course 100s of very special wedding venues which is why we feel particularly privileged each time a couple chooses Hope Farm!
There are so many reasons to choose Hope Farm. Here are just a few...
Love for the beautiful Dorset countryside
We came to Dorset a few years ago and fell in love ourselves with its natural beauty. It's unique and diverse landscape offers something for everyone from scenic coastline to rural hills and valleys. Our little piece of Dorset countryside is distinctive for its lush green pastures and Dorset stone. Our barn wedding venue has even been developed using resources from our own Dorset woodland. We continue to traditionally farm our grassland, grazing our flock of Welsh Mountain sheep and herd of Alpacas.
Relaxed, calm and peaceful setting
Although we are only a few minutes from Bridport; tucked behind the hills, we enjoy a quiet peace at Hope Farm. We encourage you to feel at home here and to relax and enjoy your wedding weekend. We know that planning this important day can be stressful at times but we are here to provide as much help and support as you need. From the moment we meet we will endeavour to reassure you and help you build trust in us so that you can feel as calm as possible on your wedding day knowing that we have everything in hand.
Exclusivity of our barn wedding venue
We pride ourselves on carefully limiting the number of weddings at Hope Farm to ensure that we can give our full attention to each wedding and give each couple the time they need to fully enjoy their wedding. We don't do back-to-back weddings. It is our family home and home to our collection of feathered, woolly and furry friends but we are not a hotel nor do we offer any other form of holiday letting or camping. This means you and your guests will have exclusive use to enjoy Hope Farm completely.
Privacy
Hope Farm is uniquely situated on a quiet country road to nowhere and nestled between the rolling Dorset hills. A secret hiding place for you to create a special wedding retreat away from curious gazing eyes.
Our animals
Our animals are what gives Hope Farm it's unique character. From our pretty alpacas curiously leaning their necks over the fence to say hello, our personable feathered-friends weaving around their ankles in the farmyard and the chorus of clucks, quacks, bleats, baas and snorts emanating from the paddocks. They love being part of the show and will happily pose for pictures if required!
For time
A wedding at Hope Farm is not just one day or a few hours. It is a whole weekend. Your own private wedding retreat! A day to prepare for your wedding, the wedding day itself and time to relax after your celebrations. We enjoy welcoming you the day before your wedding as you and your wedding suppliers transform our barn wedding venue. Each couple brings their own style to Hope Farm and it is such a joy to see you imprint your own personality. No two weddings are ever the same!
We recognise that you may also want a place to relax the night before the big day and our Coach House is the perfect place for you to gather your immediate wedding party for supper or a BBQ before you get a good nights sleep. Our Coach House sleeps up to four guests and our two Shepherds Huts sleep a further four guests between them.
You then have all morning for final preparations before your guests arrive. Your hairdresser and make-up artist are welcome to help you get ready in the Coach House. There is no need to travel anywhere at the end of your wedding day. Just a short walk from the celebrations to your comfy bed in the Coach House. Others are also welcome to stay a second night in the Shepherds Huts.
Then enjoy a relaxed breakfast whilst you reminisce on your wonderful day before you wind your way home to begin the next stage of your lives together as a married couple.
For the barn wedding venue
We are so proud of our barn wedding venue. We have transformed not one but two of our agricultural barns into unique spaces. Our son Matt has done most of the work himself with a little bit of help and Sue has carefully chosen the fixtures and furniture to compliment the blend of rural charm and modern aesthetic. The barns offer a more edgy design from the older stone barn style. The home-grown wood panelling and external cladding provides a natural warmth and contrasts well with the metallic walls and roof. The floor to ceiling, double-aspect windows provide plenty of natural light and incredible views over the surrounding hills.
Our two barns are not only beautiful but there are also purposeful. We have created two large indoor spaces which means that whatever the weather you and your guests can enjoy your day in comfort. Hope Barn is licensed for indoor wedding ceremonies and also has a bar where your guests can enjoy a drink before your wedding breakfast. We have created a cosy and convivial lounge area for guests to relax. It's also a great space for guests to dance the night away accompanied by a band or DJ.
Oak Barn is our fully furnished and dedicated dining space. After your ceremony, guests can flow through into the barn for your first meal as a married couple. It has a kitchen attached which can be used by your caterers.
For our outdoor space
Our 40 acres of land means there is plenty of space for you and your guests to enjoy. From our Walled Garden licensed for outdoor wedding ceremonies and our expansive gardens for outdoor games and garden drinks. Courtyards with firepits for late night stargazing and marshmallow toasting and the surrounding paddocks, woodland and lakes. Plenty of amazing photo opportunities.
For the freedom
A wedding at Hope Farm is never prescriptive. You have complete flexibility to choose your own suppliers and to have the wedding you choose to suit your own style and personality. We welcome guests of all ages and species here so if you want to bring your favourite pet then just us let us know and we will help you make all the arrangements! You can choose to have a legal civil wedding ceremony indoors or outdoors or a more symbolic, personal ceremony led by a celebrant. Our barn wedding venue is a blank canvas for you to fill with riotous colour or softer tones, whatever your preference. We will be on hand to help you plan your day throughout. We are experts in wedding planning and help offer inspiration and guidance to ensure your have the perfect day.
